Plastic pollution is damaging and unsustainable. Recycled PET plastic helps prevent plastic pollution as we know it. The bottles weigh much less than glass (less weight to transport), require less energy to make meaning the carbon cost per bottle is much lower than glass. Registration with the Container Deposit Schemes (10c return & earn) increases the likelihood of reuse.

The bottle is made of food-grade PET, which does not react with wine or affect its taste or quality, given these bottles will not substitute for glass for wine to be cellared for years.

The bottles use an advanced, proprietary, active oxygen scavenger technology to create a special barrier and extend the shelf-life of the bottle compared to other non glass containers available.

In short, it is this barrier technology which enables these bottles to offer 19 – 21 month shelf life. 

World-wide most wine is consumed within days or weeks of purchase. Wines in these bottles are not designed to be cellared.

Glass bottles will remain essential to Tamburlaine production. New PET ranges will provide you the option to choose wines to drink in the short-term, which come with the inherent practical and environmental benefits.

All table wine varieties are able to go into these bottles, except sparkling due to the pressure involved. The Tamburlaine wines packaged in PET will come from the same vineyards with the same guarantee of quality.

For the moment, yes. For our first bottling run, we will be using a Polypropylene (PP) cap which cannot be recycled. Early next year we will be switching to a PET cap that can be recycled without the need to seperate.
