"Graft" and "Grafting" are very different - the latter is the horticultural term for the process of switching plant variety. Tamburlaine has grafted a few blocks in recent years producing more choice for blending in the lab.
Tasting Notes:
Colour | Deep garnet with a bright purple hue.
Bouquet | Ripe dark plum, blackcurrant jam, freshly cracked black pepper, and a hint of dark chocolate, all woven together with classy toasty-mocha French oak.
Palate | Full-flavoured yet perfectly balanced cool-climate red. A flood of juicy blackberry, plum and redcurrant, layered with five-spice, dark cocoa and subtle smoked-meat nuance from oak. Silky, velvety tannins roll across the palate and finish long.
Pairs well with:
Meat | Slow-braised beef cheek in master-stock with star anise, served over creamy polenta.
Seafood | Char-grilled Moreton Bay bug tails brushed with garlic, chilli and smoked-paprika butter.
Vegetarian | Twice-baked field mushroom filled with taleggio, spinach, roasted garlic and hazelnut crumb.
Vegan | Sticky miso-glazed eggplant steaks with black sesame and spring-onion salad.
Cheese | Washed-rind soft cheese at room temperature with sourdough and fig.
Cellaring | Delicious now, but will blossom with 6-10 years in a cool, dark cellar.
Alcohol | 13.5%
